Duties of employers
The regbulations should not be considered in isolation. Regulation
3(1) of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations
1992 requires employers to make a suitable and sufficient assessment
of the risks to health and safety of their employees while at work.
Where it is not reasonably practicable to avoid the need for
employees to undertake any manual handling operations at work
that involves a risk of them being injured the employer must make
a suitable and sufficient assessment of all such manual handling
operations.
